Aerospace End Users Committee to Identify & Define MNT Requirements
Mandate:
The End Users Committee constitutes the backbone of the CANEUS 2006 conference, not only in terms of defining the MNT requirements for the aerospace applications, but also in helping/assisting with the current state of the concept papers and pilot projects.
CANEUS 2006 will take a different approach to formulating the concept paper. Instead of the "Push" approach adopted by CANEUS 2004, with near zero input from the potential customers/end-users, this time around we will have the End-User committee intimately involved in the concept paper definition and selection process.
Roles:
1.
Review existing concepts and topical areas to decide if these are acceptable to the customers/end-users
2.
Suggest new concept topics and associated requirements if there are any gaping "holes" in our program or there are some really "hot" topics that need inclusion.
3.
Set a review date for all concept papers. This helps the Concept Topics committee set dates for submission etc from their respondents.
4.
Start selecting the members of the committee and send out invitations to the appropriate people. By way of introduction, the list of concept topics can be supplied to the invitees.
Structure:
Dr. Bill Atwell, Senior Fellow, Boeing, is chairing this committee. Dr. Dan Powell, NASA-GSFC, is coordinating the Concept Papers.
The members include representatives of the aeronautics, space, and defense industries and government procurement agencies from Europe, North and South America, and Asia-Pacific.
