If flying to the convention, the three closest airports are:
- Bangor International - Airport is approximately 12 miles away via Interstate 95
- Portland International Jetport - Approximately 145 miles away via Interstate 295/95. Concord Coach Lines provides a bus from Portland to Bangor. Round trip: $42, One-Way: $25.
- Logan International Airport (Boston) - Airport is approximately 245 miles away via Interstate 295/95. Concord Coach Lines provides a bus from Portland to Bangor. Round trip: $75, One-Way: $43.
*you may notice Concord Coach Lines lists a stop in Orono/UMaine. This route only runs during spring and fall semesters, not over the summer.

The American Folk Festival is a large-scale, three-day event, held each year at the end of August in nearby downtown Bangor. Located near the waterfront, the Festival presents the music and dance from the many cultures that make up America today.

Located approximately 55 miles southeast of Orono, the park is home to many plants and animals, and the tallest mountain on the U.S. Atlantic coast. Today, visitors come to Acadia from all across America to hike granite peaks, bike historic carriage roads, or relax and enjoy the scenery.
