NASA, Director of Innovative Partnership Programs to speak at CANEUS/NASA Workshop

Mr. Doug Comstock, Director, Innovative Partnership Programs Office, NASA Headquarters will present “Dinner Keynote” address at the CANEUS / NASA Workshop on March 27-28, 2007 to be held at the Gaylord Texan Resort, Grapevine, Texas.

The programs and initiatives directed by the NASA IPP foster technology partnerships, commercialization and innovation in support of NASA's overall mission and national priorities.

The presentation by Mr. Comstock is synergetic with the objective and goals of this undertaking, to encourage and identify key partnerships to advance the state-of-the-art towards implementing the “Fly-by-Wireless” goals.  Mr. Comstock will discuss the many programs and opportunities for partnering with NASA and how that relates to NASA’s new Vision for Space Exploration.

The workshop represents a unique and ambitious attempt to bring together the Aerospace industry Application Presenters / End Users and the technology developers to discuss and annotate potential collaboration on future projects to reduce wires and connectors and take advantage of the new capabilities/flexibility that result from current next generation technologies.

The Workshop Chair, George Studor anticipates that the workshop’s measurable deliverables will include a number of new relationships with areas of mutual interest in implementing “Fly-by-Wireless” goals and objectives. The CANEUS Project will take the results and look for potential collaboration areas between groups partnering in similar areas of mutual interest or needing a similar technology.  CANEUS Chairman, Milind Pimprikar expect the progress of this project will be reported at CANEUS 2008 based on follow-up from these initial potential collaborations.

Workshop is sponsored by NASA's Exploration Systems Mission Directorate(ESMD) and Innovative Partnership Program(IPP).
