CANEUS Pilot Projects Pioneer Collaborative Approach to Technology Evolution

CANEUS is in the process of launching five different project teams to execute its Aircraft/Spacecraft Health Monitoring Pilot Project. The subject of a CANEUS/NASA-hosted workshop in Grapevine, TX, this coming 22-23 March 2007. The project tackles the issue of reducing wires and connections across the aerospace industry.

Five world-class experts lead the groups, each focusing on a different aspect of advancing Aircraft/Spacecraft Health Monitoring. The composition of the groups will be formalized in advance of the “Fly-by-Wireless” Workshop. For more details on the five focus areas, please see the “Fly-by-Wireless” Website at http://www.caneus.org/workshop/.

This approach sets an example for other Pilot Projects by paving the way and demonstrating CANEUS’ effective approach to overcoming ITAR issues, in addition to its unique IP mechanisms. The projects provide exceptional opportunities for international collaboration, and CANEUS hopes to garner still more involvement from its global membership. With two weeks remaining before the 22 February deadline, plenty of time remains to formulate and finalize these exceptional teams
