CANEUS Europe is pleased to convene the CANEUS mid-term meeting on June 20-22, 2007, in Paris France. This meeting will help review the progress of several CANEUS Pilot Projects and also serve as the next step forward for the CANEUS International Technical Working Groups. The project discussions will be led by:
“Small-Satellites” by Fredrik Bruhn, Angstrom Aerospace Corporation, Sweden
“Fly-by-Wireless for Aerospace Vehicles”, by George Studor, NASA JSC, USA
“Reliability of MNT Devices” by P Perdue, CNES, France
“Harsh Environment Sensors”, Jan Suski, Memsfield, Paris, France
The CANEUS International Working Groups:
CANEUS “Small-Satellites” Working Group: CSS-WG
This Working Group is the world’s catalyst for the small (Micro/Nano/Pico) satellite industry to bring breakthrough technologies to this space community by ensuring space qualification, lower cost, reliability and added-value. By setting global direction, creating opportunities for flexible collaboration and conducting strategic R&D CSS-WG delivers significant ROI to our small satellite industry partners.
CANEUS “Aircraft –Spacecraft Wireless” Working Group: CAW-WG
Participants at the recently held CANEUS/NASA workshop initiated discussion to establish “Aircraft Wireless Working Group, under the auspices of CANEUS”. The Working Group mission is to explore on an international level solutions to the barriers to on-board aircraft wireless implementation especially related to applications, requirements, and spectrum allocation.
CANEUS “Reliability of MNT Systems” Working Group: CRS-WG
Participants at the CANEUS 2006 conference created the working group in order to launch a collaborative pilot project on reliability and testing services for Micro Nano Technology (MNT) systems for aerospace applications. It aims to address (a) all the end-user reliability and radiation tolerance needs, and (b) technical solutions to deal with MEMS Design For Reliability, Virtual Prototyping, Technology Analysis, Failure Analysis, Test, Qualification, and System versus Component reliability trades.
CANEUS “Harsh Environment Sensors” Working Group: CHS-WG
Providing the aerospace community with access to novel MNT sensors based on Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI) integrated circuits coupled with MEMS technology, consuming low power and adapted for performance in harsh environments.
Participation is by invitation and limited. The detailed complete program and request for participation may be addressed to Dr. OUDEA Coumar, President, CANEUS Europe Inc., EADS-Astrium Space Transportation, France, Phone: 33 (0)1 39 06 28 34; Email: coumar.oudea@space.eads.net
