CANEUS is pleased to announce that the deadline for submitting nominations for the new CANEUS MNT-for-Aerospace Visionary Awards has been extended until August 4 th . Nominations must include a brief summary of the contributions of the nominees, describing how their outstanding achievements and vision helped influence the development and infusion of emerging MNT concepts into Aerospace and Defense applications. NASA and several major aerospace companies are co-sponsoring CANEUS' unique effort to recognize these exceptional individuals and teams.
The four awards are: the Smalley Medal for Excellence in Nanotechnology for Aerospace, the CANEUS Medal for Excellence in Microtechnology for Aerospace, the CANEUS Outstanding Student Medal, and the CANEUS Medal for Vision and Leadership in MNT for Aerospace. The awards consist of medals and monetary prizes ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 USD.
The awards will be presented at the Awards Ceremony on August 30 in the presence of dignitaries including the Foreign Minister of France, Presidents of several Aerospace Industries and the Honorary Chairman of the CANEUS 2006 Conference Mr. Jean-Marc Thomas, President of Airbus France.
