CANEUS 2006  Conference attracts global attention

The CANEUS 2006 Conference has solidified CANEUS’ position as an international leader in transitioning emerging Micro- and Nano-Technologies for Aerospace Applications. Hosted in Toulouse, France, this past week of August 27-September 1, the conference began with topical short course sessions designed to provide necessary background – learning tools – in key areas such as inter-governmental agreements, intellectual property (IP)-related issues, MNT missions and the product/system development process from concept, which are pertinent to the conference sessions and workshops.

The first three days weekdays featured 23 technical sessions addressing key issues involved in three broad topical areas: Technology Overview, Technology Applications, and Programmatic. Each speaker at the conference was leader in their field, describing their organization's work in the context of the broader global picture. The conference sessions provided the background material for discussions leading to informed decisions by participants at the subsequent workshops sessions.

The two-day workshop sessions followed the technical program, and used a step-by-step approach to first identify candidate MNT concepts, and ultimately formulate the pilot projects while focusing on fostering international partnerships that bring together complementary core competencies.

Specific highlights and achievements will be featured here shortly.
